Every year students from all over India appear for the Jawaharlal Nehru Entrance Exam which is held at 37 centers all across India.
Academics
The Jawaharlal Nehru University within has ten schools of Arts & Aesthetics, Biotechnology, Computer and systems Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology, International studies, Language, Literature and Culture, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences.
Apart form these schools it has three centers too for Sanskrit studies, Law and governance and Molecular Medicine. These schools and centers offer various Masters, M.Phil and Ph. D degree courses to interested students.
They also offer B.A. programs and some part time programs too. The bachelor’s programs are of three years duration and the masters programs are of two years duration.
Application Process
The application form for Jawaharlal Nehru University is available at a total price of Rs. 200 on the Jawaharlal Nehru University website and several other educational websites.

The entrance examination or the Jawaharlal Nehru University is held in the middle of May 2021 at close to 51 centers across. There are exams help at some overseas centers too.
Following the written exam, the selected students are called for a viva voice, following which they are granted admission to various programs of their choice.
Students who are traveling to Jawaharlal Nehru University from over 300 kilometers are reimbursed for their travel. They are paid second class rail fares only on producing valid tickets.
There are close to 18 scholarships awarded to deserving students who are not able to fund their education at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
22% of the seats in Jawaharlal Nehru University are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste candidates respectively and a 3% of the seats are reserved for physically challenged candidates.

Mode of Teaching
The JNU follows the semester system and each semester is assigned a particular number of credits.

Hostel Facility
Hostel Facility is available to students who are pursuing various courses at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
22.5% of the hostel seats are reserved for Scheduled Casts and Scheduled tribes and 3% for the handicapped students.
Preference will be given to full time students who are not residents of Delhi.
The student has to carry all the relevant documents like ration cards, residence certificate and posting certificate where ever applicable to secure their hostel rooms.
